- Kamalpreet Kaur is an Indian Athlete (Discus Thrower). She is the first Indian woman to cross the 65m barrier mark in discus throw.

- Since her childhood she wasn’t interested in studies and academics at all. However she was a bit interested in sports because of good physique. During an interview she told,
During the class VIII exams I just managed 33 marks each in Math and English. There was a slight improvement in the class X boards, but I realized that I was not going anywhere with my studies. I knew that if things continued like this I would not get a job. This was also the time when I had taken part in a sports event and did well. People liked my height and built and suggested that I give sports a try.
- Initially Kamalpreet took up athletics in 2012, but in 2014 she started taking the sport seriously and after that she participated in many tournaments and slowly she started winning them.
- Initially she wished to become a cricketer, but her PT teacher told her to become a shot putter and when the coach at the center asked her to pick-up discus, She just followed him.
- In 2014 Kamalpreet joined a center of Sports Authority of India (SAI) in her village and began her initial training. Her rigorous practice and natural ability soon began to yield results as she became the U-18 and U-20 national champion in 2016.

Since coach Rekha Tyagi joined Sports Authority India’s Badal center, She was modern in her approach and made me go through a lot of videos of the best throwers to see and learn new methods. Another change came when I got access to protein supplements to enhance performance.
- Since her childhood Kamalpreet’s days have passed in struggle, while winning medals at nation level, She didn’t got a nice financial support. It was even hard for her to purchase shoes for herself as they nearly costed Rs 10,000, but in 2017 she got a job in Railways as a clerk. The salary was just Rs 21,000, but it came every month, which was a huge support for her.
- In qualifying round of Summer Olympics 2020 (Tokyo), She has set a national record in discus throw with an attempt of 65.06m and just after that, she broke her own record to 66.59m at the Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships held in Patiala in Punjab on 21 June 2021.
